2018 Conference

The 2018 Bikeability annual conference will be held on Wednesday 16th May and Thursday 17th May 2018 @ Islington Assembly Hall N1 2UD.

On Wednesday 16th May there will be a free guided ride around London (14.00 – 17.00), led by local cyclists to look at local cycling facilities and includes an hour’s visit to an exhibition celebrating 200 years of cycling in London. This will be followed by an informal social evening at the popular Look Mum No Hands! from 18.00 – 22.00.

On Thursday 17th May, the main training conference (09.30 – 16.30) will include keynote speeches, including an address by Will Norman, London’s Commissioner for Walking and Cycling, plus a series of parallel workshops (90 minute sessions) throughout the day, covering a wide range of topics. The workshops will include some practical sessions. There will also be a Bikeability Awards Ceremony – more information to follow.

REGISTER FOR THE TABS CONFERENCE HERE

TABS encourages everyone to attend both days to explore London, take a look at their cycling facilities and network with other delegates. It is worth considering that there will likely be cost savings from booking off-peak trains during the afternoon of Weds 16th May compared to peak-time tickets on the morning of Thurs 17th May.Further background information re. travel/accommodation available - click here

NB. accommodation in London should be booked asap as it does get booked up early, especially given the royal wedding in May. (If you have problems downloading the document email: info@tabs-uk.org.uk)

Due to some financial support, TABS is able to offer the same registration rates for delegates – schemes and instructors alike as 2017. Again, TABS actively welcome instructors to attend either as a scheme employee, or an independent.

The cost for attending the 2 days of the Bikeability conference is as follows (kept at the same rates as 2017):

  • First delegate from TABS member scheme / organisation – FREE
  • Further delegates from TABS member scheme / organisation – £50 per person
  • Individual instructors£50 per person
  • Other delegates that are not TABS members – £180 per person

Once you have registered we will send you an invoice for payment, and summary of conference logistics. Workshop choices will then follow subsequently.

For any other general questions about the conference / workshops, if you would like to propose a workshop topic, or get involved in running/supporting a session please contact info@tabs-uk.org.uk
